“What a great spot to enjoy the action of Mardi gras and experience the local culture in NOLA. The apartment is in a great location its about 15 to the center of Bourbon or Frenchman st. We didn’t need to take an uber anywhere. Its good exercise also because you will probably be eating a lot of great southern cuisine. Additionally the place was clean , theres 2 bathrooms with is a big plus and four bedrooms with a great little kitchen and family room that can accommodate a large group, with plenty of channel options on the TV. Experience the local flavor in our private completely renovated shotgun double in one of the city’s coolest neighborhoods. This private Marigny home is one block from the French Quarter, less than a 5 minute walk to Frenchman Street & Bourbon Street, moments from Jackson Square, a short bike ride to Midcity, and 4 blocks to our complimentary secure parking space. It is also centrally located between the Riverwalk Streetcar Line as well as the new Rampart Streetcar Line.
The Space
Built in 1905, our brothel style shotgun (meaning it has a hallway running through the house for added bedroom privacy) retains the architecture you expect in a New Orleans home. High 12 foot ceilings, giant windows, original decorative brick fireplaces, restored pine wood floors, open kitchen/living space with pocket doors for privacy, and private courtyard/patio — you get the idea.
Its charm represents a home of its era, an open traditional shotgun with four bedrooms/two baths each complete with a QUEEN SIZE BED and ceiling fan and a QUEEN SLEEPER SOFA in the living room which has pocket doors for added privacy.
There is a 55 inch plasma screen in the living room with access to Netflix.
The kitchen is completely furnished with fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender and microwave. Cutting boards, pots, plates, and basics utensils will be provided as well. If you have any requests please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate!
There is also a washer and dryer in the back of the house which comes in handy after a day at Jazz Fest in the early summer heat! Speaking of New Orleans heat, the apartment has Central AC/Heat so you will always have a comfortable place to relax.
We also provide linens and towels, shampoo/conditioner/soaps/iron/clothes hangers, as well as a hair dryer so you can save the space in your travel bag!
The private back patio has ample seating and greenery. There is a mature Satsuma tree that you are welcome to pick from for morning juice and mimosas.
Parking: You definitely do not need a car in the Marigny! We offer one park pass per unit via our on street parking permit.

All streets on the East side of Elysian Fields Avenue
From our location you can walk anywhere — the French Quarter is steps away, and the Marigny itself is a fantastic place to explore. You’ll find where the locals go to eat drink and dance. Live Like a Local!!!
Guest access
You will have full access to your own private apartment with a private back patio for hanging out or storing bikes if you chose to rent them from our favorite local shop. You will also be assigned a 4 digit code for the automatically locking key pad on the front door.
Access instructions will be sent to you shortly before your arrival.
Other things to note
This is New Orleans. Do yourself a favor and wear comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and drink plenty of water.

We would like to start off by sharing that your health, welfare, and safety always remain our utmost concern. As you are planning your next visit with us, we anticipate that you may have questions about our efforts to manage Coronavirus (COVID-19) and your vacation rental. We want you to feel confident, whenever you visit, that all our actions are focused on your health, well-being, and comfort.
Throughout this entire situation, we have communicated with and worked alongside local and state officials concerning efforts to decrease the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to our community and our guests. With the guidance of these state and local officials, we’ve modified our processes at every turn to make sure every possible measure was taken for precaution and safety. As always, the health and safety of everyone involved is absolutely paramount above all else.
Sanitation/Disinfection
We have always been committed to providing our guests with rental properties that are properly cleaned and sanitized. Starting May 1, 2020, we will be providing an extra layer of sanitation and disinfection for our arriving guests. All properties will be treated (on frequently touched items, such as doorknobs, faucets, switches, etc.) with a U.S. EPA approved disinfectant product that kills the COVID-19. Our housekeeping, maintenance and inspection teams will be equipped with proper PPE (masks and gloves) to protect themselves and guests while in and around each of our properties.
We ask that our guests please contribute to the welfare of the community by following social distancing procedures, however we are here to help in the event an issue or emergency arises. Please contact us by phone first and we would be happy to discuss them with you.
Royal Street Vacation Rental Cancellations:
Currently, we are taking calls to discuss EXTREMELY flexible cancellation and date moving requests due to extenuating circumstances on arrivals. We are staying updated on conditions revolving around the nationwide concern of COVID-19 and how this may affect rentals farther into the future, and will adjust the dates allowed within the policy as time goes on and more is known about the longevity of this impact.
We appreciate all of your cooperation and support through this ever-changing and stressful time. We are here for you now and will be here for you when this passes.
